Ysgol Pant Y Rhedyn’s school garden is run by volunteers and relies on good will donations. There is a small budget, generously provided by the school. This pays for the basics.
However, to successfully deliver any of our bigger gardening projects or to buy larger items of equipment for the school garden, we are reliant on practical help and donations. Here’s our school garden wishlist which shows you how you could help us to keep this fantastic project moving forward. If you are able to help us out, in any way, contact Cathy at ItsLello.
|Wellies||Sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7. We lend wellies to members of gardening club if they are not able to bring a pair in from home.|
|Gloves||Childrens' gardening gloves|
|Bird feeders||A new bird feeder stand plus bird feeders to hold bird seed and fat balls|
|Bird food||Bird food (nut and peanut free)|
|Storage||A tool rack for our shed|
|Cold Frame||Cold frames (poly-carbonate glazing) will allow us to grow from seed and provide somewhere for seedlings and young plants to be kept|
|Time||There are always jobs to do in the garden, so if you can spare an hour or so a month, that would be awesome.|
|Compost heap||We need help with building more compost heap frames out of recycled pallets|
|Volunteers||We need more volunteers to help with running gardening club - you will need a DBS which we can easily sort out and be able to spare about 1 hour a week. We currently run the club on a Thursday or Friday lunchtime between 12 and 1pm|
|Project management||A project manager to pick up the fund-raising and publicity for the Polytunnel that we'd like to buy for the garden|
|Bags of compost & manure||Donations of compost and farmyard manure would be warmly welcomed|
